As my friends may know, I am an amateur electronics tinkerer and fan of Tesla. I happened across a scan of an article that appeared in 1911 about his plans for wireless energy. Zoom in on it and see how many things have come to pass. With the exception of magnetizing enemy ships (though who knows), his ideas came to be commonplace. Many inventions are what we now call the Internet and cell phones, including the synchronization of time-pieces (our phones are always calibrated to the correct time zone).
But one wonders what happened to all of his working inventions that were siezed by the FBI on his death. They used the Office of Alien Property as their arm, though he was a US citizen, and declared the ill-gotten booty "most secret". It's possible that the gov't took his inventions and used them for some time, only allowing bits and pieces to trickle down to average schmoes when they saw fit.
One of his grandest concepts was to broadcast wireless energy, the fallout of which was radio (he died trying to get the patent to that). The whole world would be able to function under the benefits of electric power, most likely for free. He also did a number of interesting experiments to discern the "wavelength" at which the universe pulsed (I'm paraphrasing here from the documentary I saw). Part of this theory as I understand it was that we could harness the electromagnetic energy of the earth to do all sorts of things.
What I posit is this: the mechanations for the previous paragraph's theories have been perfected and used for some time now. It's entirely possible that energy is plentiful, run off of the ethers so to speak, and that there is no shortage of resources. This ties in with what the conspiracists call the Nazi UFO's, which I may talk about tomorrow. I'm too tired now.
I will say that it is Nikola Tesla's 150th anniversary and a few countries and organizations have declared this year, 2006, his year. Not us though; go to Canada or Croatia if you wanna celebrate him, ya commie-pinko scum.

ok, bad form commenting 1st on my own post, but I was looking up "ethers" to make sure I wasn't being a complete idiot and found a striking definition:
5. Physics An all-pervading, infinitely elastic, massless medium formerly postulated as the medium of propagation of electromagnetic waves.
